Teddies for Tragedies

Hundreds of people around the UK knit teddies for children with little or nothing. They are all the same size and from the same pattern so they create no rivalry between children, but all different colours so each is an individual. They are collected by the charity Teddies for Tragedies. We took a sack of about a hundred on our trip to Uganda and they were given out to children as we travelled around. Despite the rather bemused look on the faces of the children in the photos, they seemed to love them and it was a real joy giving them out. Thank you to the ladies who knitted them. Any profits from these photos will go to WACIA (Women and Children in Africa). Hi res digital files are available for editorial use - please contact me for prices.
